Thiruvananthapuram – The Kerala‑based film Innocent is finished and ready for the big screen. Fans who have followed the story of TV star Althaf Salim can expect to see it on November 7.
The movie has drawn attention because it mixes fresh faces from television with a lively, street‑wise plot. It focuses on everyday social pressures and the few people who dare to speak out instead of staying silent. The film uses sharp satire and humor to raise questions about morality in today’s society.
Directed by debutant filmmaker Satheesh Thanvi, who first made a name with the hit TV series Uppum Mulakum, Innocent promises a blend of wit and truth. Thanvi calls the film a “journey” that treats a simple topic with humor while pointing out the decline of moral values in society.
The story follows Vinod (played by Althaf Salim), a young government employee, during a chaotic bus ride from Karunagappally to Thiruvananthapuram. What happens on the bus forms the core of the story, giving the film the feel of a classic “road movie”. Salim’s performance is expected to be both engaging and entertaining.
Other key roles are taken by Jomon Jyothir (known from Vaazha), Anarkali Marakkar, Aziz Nedumangad, Riyaz Narmakala, Anna Prasad, Jolly Chirayath, Aadinad Shashi and several newcomers. The screenplay, written by Shihab Karunagappally, Sarji Vijayan, and Satheesh Thanvi, is complemented by music from Jay Steller and eight songs written by Vinayak Shashikumar.
The film was shot in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Karunagappally, and Attingal. Cinematography by Nikhil S. Praveen and editing by Riyas help bring the story to life, while Madhu Raghavan handles art direction.
Innocent is produced by Sreeraj A.D. under Elements of Cinema and backed by executive producers Ajay Vasudev, G. Marthandan, and Dixon Poduthas. The picture will be released through Century Films. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
