Mumbai – The Mumbai‑based singer‑songwriter King, famous for viral tracks such as “Maan Meri Jaan,” “Tu Jaana Na Piya,” and “Tu Aake Dekhle,” shared why his music is resonating worldwide and how he keeps growing as an artist.
He spoke to while promoting I‑popstar, a new streaming music reality show where he acts as one of the mentors. “When you put yourself in rooms ten times bigger than your own personality, you learn,” King said. “In a room with people who are bigger than me, my mind naturally pushes to step up and keep up. I always make sure to keep that challenge alive.”
King keeps his focus on growth. “I avoid spaces where I’m the loudest or the biggest,” he added. “I choose rooms full of people who are bigger—because that’s where learning happens.”
In early 2024, King released the EP Shayad Koi Na Sune. He explains that he didn’t want another chart‑climber or a playlist filler. “I wanted music that sits with you when no one’s looking,” he said. The songs are personal, “messy, quiet truths” about feeling unseen, growing in silence, and finding value in small moments. “I called it Shayad Koi Na Sune because maybe no one will hear it,” he explained, “but that’s fine. If one listener feels less alone, I’m happy.”
The new EP follows his 2023 release, Shayad Woh Sune, and continues the introspective style that fans love. Through I‑popstar, King mentors the next wave of singers, encouraging them to step into larger rooms and keep pushing their creative limits.
