Actress Kubbra Sait has taken her fans on a nostalgic trip back to 2009, when she quit a tech job at Microsoft to chase her dream in Mumbai.

On Saturday, Kubbra posted a string of throwback photos on Instagram. The images include her first portfolio shoot, the one she used to hop onto the big‑screen stage. She wrote a heartfelt caption that highlighted the moment she left spreadsheets behind and moved to the city that never sleeps.

“Around 2009, I decided to leave my job at Microsoft and go to Mumbai. Everyone whispered that you need a portfolio to succeed. Mine was taken by a kind photographer in Dubai, Sunith Shyam, right after I won Miss Personality at Miss India Worldwide. I felt proud as I framed that first photo—it was my first real step into a career I hadn’t yet lived.”

She added a gentle reminder about memory’s fragility: “The picture aged, the glass stuck to it, and when I retrieved it, some parts stuck behind. Just like memories, some fade, some stay. The courage that started in that frame is still with me.”

She has also dipped her toes in reality TV with Rise and Fall and is set to appear next in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
