Sub-jr Jr Women Academy C’ship: Top academies start their campaigns on a winning note on Day 1

The 3rd Hockey India Sub‑junior Women Academy Championship kicked off Saturday in Karnal, Haryana, at the Kailash Hockey Stadium. Sixteen academies from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and other states have entered the tournament, with matches shown the opening day in Zones A and B. The competition has attracted fans and local media alike, and the first round produced several high‑scoring games.
Strong starts for Roundglass Punjab Club Academy
Roundglass Punjab Club Academy opened the day with a dominating 11‑0 win over Vadipatti Raja Hockey Academy. Navdeep Kaur fired four goals at the 6th, 20th, 30th, and 54th minutes, while Taniya Chandeliya matched her with fours at 16th, 19th, 35th, and 37th minutes. Randeep Kaur, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Khushi Yadav also moved the ball across the net, finishing the scoreline.
Pritam Siwach Academy’s 13‑0 rout
In Pool A, Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy from Sonepat took the trophy by beating Citizen Hockey XI 13‑0. Mauki struck four times, at 6th, 33rd, 37th, and 50th minutes. Captain Diya added three more goals (39th, 41st, 46th), while Anshika doubled the tally at 30th and 44th minutes. A group of players joined the celebrations, with Parnita, Geetika, Nancy Saroha, and Chanchal scoring the remaining goals.
Har Academy crushes Tamil Nadu Academy
Pool B saw the Har Academy outclass Tamil Nadu Academy 21‑0. Antika became the star, netting seven goals inside the first 58 minutes, while Anjali added five more. Captain Radhika scored three times as well. Additional scorers included Jyoti, Vishakha, and Bharti. The victory marked a record‑breaking performance for Har Academy.
Ritu Rani Hockey Academy wins 8‑1
Ritu Rani Hockey Academy defeated Hockey Family Badhkhalsa NCR Hockey Society 8‑1. Aishmeen Kaur registered four goals at 31st, 34th, 53rd, and 58th minutes, and Dilpreet Kaur added a goal at 2nd and 38th minutes. Captain Prabhjot Kaur and Harshdeep Kaur rounded out the scorecard. The only goal for the opposition came from Palak near the 19th minute.
Close contests in Pool D
RK Roy Hockey Academy edged Raja Karan Hockey Academy 2‑1, with Riya Gaud and Princi Yadav leading the way. Yogita netted the sole goal for Raja Karan. In a different stalemate, Khalsa Hockey Academy from Amritsar beat Markandeshwar Hockey Academy 2‑0; captain Jashandeep Kaur scored both goals in the 28th and 38th minutes.
Later fixtures
Later in the day, Anantapur Sports Academy challenged Khalsa’s Kolkata Sports Hockey Academy, and Jai Bharat Hockey Academy will take on Jude Felix Hockey Academy in Pool C. The tournament continues over the next days, with more matches scheduled across Zones A and B as the sub‑junior women’s teams battle for the championship title.
