Fans of the new film Kantara: Chapter 1 are getting a heartfelt message from its makers: let’s keep piracy out of the picture. The production team behind director Rishab Shetty’s latest pan-India hit wants everyone to respect the hard work that went into creating this epic.

Hombale Films, the studio that brought Kantara: Chapter 1 to life, shared an emotional plea on social media. "Dear Kantara family and cinema lovers," they wrote, "From the beginning, Kantara has been yours as much as ours. Your love and support have carried this journey forward. We humbly request you not to support piracy. It not only harms the film but also the dreams and efforts of thousands who worked tirelessly to bring it to life."

They also asked fans to skip recording or sharing videos from theaters, even if it’s just to spread the buzz. "It takes away the magic of cinema," the post continued. "Kantara Chapter 1 was created for the big screen so you can feel every sound, every frame, every emotion as it was meant to be. Let’s protect this journey together and keep Kantara an unforgettable experience in theaters."

The movie hit screens worldwide on October 2, available in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and even English. As a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, it dives into the world of the Kadambas of Banavasi. Rishab Shetty wrote, directed, and stars in the film alongside Rukmini Vasanth and Jayaram. Shooting kicked off in November 2023, and early buzz has been electric.

Right from its strong opening day, Kantara: Chapter 1 has won big praise. Indian cricketer Varun Chakravarthy couldn’t hold back his excitement on social media. "#Kantara has to be one of the best representations and portrayals of the many diverse and intricate cultures of our Indian land in every possible angle!!! Fantastic and mind-blowing!!! @shetty_rishab," he posted.

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for the smash hit Animal, joined the chorus of fans. On X, he raved, "KANTARA Chapter 1 is a true masterpiece. Indian cinema has never seen anything like this before. It’s a cinematic thunderstorm, raw, divine, and unshakable. Rishab Shetty delivers a true one-man show, crafted and carried single-handedly @shetty_rishab. Special mention to the BGM by @AJANEESHB."

Hombale Films replied quickly, thanking him: "Thank you, @imvangasandeep sir. We are truly overwhelmed seeing your kind words about #KantaraChapter1."

With stars like these cheering it on, Kantara: Chapter 1 looks set to captivate audiences just like its predecessor. If you’re heading to the theater, remember to enjoy it the right way—support the team and soak in the full experience.
