In Chennai on Saturday, the makers of the pan‑Indian action thriller Kattalan announced that sports analyst and actor Harishankar Narayanan—known on social media as @keeperharish—has joined the film’s production team. Cube Entertainments, the studio behind the film, posted on Instagram and Twitter to welcome the “all‑rounder.” The post highlighted Narayanan’s recent work in the 2025 film Retro, the upcoming 2026 movie Sirai, and his popularity from the 2023 Hotstar web series Label.
Kattalan is already stirring excitement. The script, written by Paul George, Joby Varghese, and Jero Jacob, promises a gritty, high‑stakes story about power, betrayal, and deadly missions. The team boasts a mix of seasoned actors and fresh talent: lead roles go to Antony Varghese (known as Pepe) and actress Rajisha Vijayan, while Rapper Baby Jean and Telugu star Sunil, famed for Pushpa and Jailer, share the screen. Heavy hitters Kabir Duhan Singh, Jagadeesh, and Siddique also join as pivotal characters.
The film has already wrapped its shooting schedule in Thailand, which began on October 1. While filming a daring action sequence that involved an elephant, here dubbed Pong—previously seen in the Ong‑Bak series—actor Antony Varghese sustained an injury. The stunts were choreographed by world‑renowned action director Kecha Khamphakdee, known for Ong‑Bak, giving the movie the high‑voltage energy fans expect from a Paul George project.
Cube Entertainments’ producer Shareef Muhammed, celebrated for the blockbuster Marco, is pulling the reins on this ambitious venture. The film’s music is handled by Ajaneesh Loknath, whose work on Kantara 2 earned acclaim, while choreography comes from Sharief. Costume design is by Dhanya Balakrishnan, cinematography by Renadive, and editing by Shameer Muhammed.
Before Narayanan’s arrival, the cast roster had already expanded to include actors Parth Tiwari and Anson Paul, and newly signed model‑turned‑actor Shon Joy, who debuted in Alappuzha Gymkhana (2025). The diverse ensemble underscores the makers’ ambition to make Kattalan a pan‑Indian hit.
Fans of high‑energy action and star‑filled lineups can expect a film that blends raw storytelling with cinematic polish. With a talented crew, an international shooting location, and a cast that spans multiple film industries, Kattalan is shaping up to be the next big cross‑border thriller. Keep an eye out as production updates and release dates come closer.
