Actress Mallika Sherawat expressed her sorrow over the death of veteran actor Dharmendra on Tuesday, following his passing at age 84 on November 24. She reflected on the day she shared a film set with him in the 2004 black‑comedy *Kis Kis Ki Kismat*, calling the experience a true blessing.
Through an Instagram post, Mallika shared a series of photos from the shoot, even posting a double‑header poster featuring herself and Dharmendra.
Her caption read: “Heartbroken to hear about the passing of Dharmendra sir. Doing a film with him was a blessing I will cherish forever. His kindness , wisdom & warmth made a lifelong impact on me. Rest in peace, legend #dharmendra #rip #kiskiskikismat.”
The film, brought to life under director Govind Menon, also featured stalwarts Satish Shah, Tinnu Anand, Jagdeep, Viju Khote, Dinesh Hingoo and Shivaji Satam. It tells the story of Hasmukh Mehta, who is accused of an affair with a young woman named Meena; a hotelier who owes Mehta money exploits the situation, while Mehta’s son falls for Meena instead.
Dharmendra’s final days saw him hospitalized at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after complaining of breathlessness. He received treatment, was discharged on November 12, and continued his recovery at home until he passed away on the 24th.
Posthumously, Dharmendra appears in the upcoming film *Ikkis*, directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia. The war drama follows the life of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of India’s Param Vir Chakra.
Celebrated as one of Indian cinema’s most iconic, handsome and commercially successful actors, Dharmendra’s career spanned more than six decades, with a filmography exceeding 300 titles. He holds the record for the most hit movies in Hindi cinema and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2012.
