During a busy New York City visit, Meghan Markle was seen chatting with Chloe Malle, the brand‑new editor of American Vogue.
A candid Instagram post from the fashion site Deuxmoi showed the former Suits star and Malle sharing a booth at Manhattan’s The Whitby Hotel. The snap, taken on Friday, had Meghan wearing the same striped top she wore at the World Mental Health Day festival, paired with jeans, a sleek bun, and earrings.
Fans jumped on the image, predicting a Vogue cover for Meghan soon. One source told the Daily Mail that “It’s Meghan 3.0. She’s on maneuvers and looking for yet another relaunch.” Neither Meghan’s or Malle’s reps answered Page Six’s request for comments.
The meeting stoked a flurry of chatter on Reddit, where users reported that Malle (now 39) had been “fangirling” over Meghan during Paris Fashion Week. Malle’s first Instagram roundup after stepping in for Anna Wintour included a photo of the back of Markle’s head, sparking further excitement. “I’m excited to see how Chloe’s editorship will turn out,” one fan wrote. “This looks like a good step!”
Malle became editor of American Vogue in September, taking over from the legendary Anna Wintour. Wintour was at the Balenciaga show that Meghan attended for her first Fashion Week appearance on Oct. 4. The two met in the crowd, hugged, and exchanged friendly words.
Although Meghan has never landed a cover on Vogue, she did guest‑edit a September 2019 issue of British Vogue. She previously declined a global cover deal with former editor Edward Enninful in 2022, reportedly causing a rift that left the two out of touch.
Beyond her magazine work, Meghan launched the “Archetypes” podcast early in the year, followed by a short‑lived “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast and a Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan.” She re‑opened her Instagram account to share intimate moments with her children, Prince Archie (6) and Princess Lilibet (4).
This meeting with the new Vogue editor raises the profile of a public‑figure who is busily building a brand beyond her royal titles, a move that could very well lead to that long‑awaited design‑house cover.
