Rick Hoffman, the beloved Louis Litt from the hit show “Suits,” is all smiles about his former co-star Meghan Markle’s new Netflix lifestyle series. Seven years after sharing the screen with the Duchess of Sussex in the legal drama, the 55-year-old actor still cheers her on.
Meghan, now 44, launched her show “With Love, Meghan” earlier this year, and fans loved the second season that dropped on Netflix in August. It’s all about cozy cooking, home tips, and feel-good vibes—stuff that reminds Hoffman of their off-screen hangs.
“I’m a total TikTok addict,” Hoffman shared with The Post while chatting about his latest flick, “London Calling.” “I doom scroll all the time, so I’ve caught clips of ‘With Love, Meghan.’ It takes me right back to our holiday celebrations in Canada during ‘Suits’ filming.”
He laughed about how Meghan always took charge in the kitchen. “She’d prepare these amazing meals and get everything just right. I’d try to help—like carving the turkey—but I’d mess it up every time. It’d look all wonky, and she’d be like, ‘What are you doing?’ I was the goofy big brother type.”
“Suits,” which also featured stars like Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres, Patrick J. Adams, and Abigail Spencer, wrapped up its nine-season run in 2019. The cast shot in Toronto, far from home, so they bonded big time over festive gatherings. Meghan left after season seven in 2017, right as her romance with Prince Harry kicked off.
Since then, Meghan married Harry in 2018, and they’ve built a family with kids Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4. The couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and now calls Montecito, California, home. No acting gigs on her horizon yet, but her lifestyle show keeps her in the spotlight.
Meanwhile, Hoffman’s keeping busy with “London Calling,” a fun action-comedy hitting screens soon. He plays a tough crime boss alongside Josh Duhamel as a hitman and Jeremy Ray Taylor as the boss’s son. The plot? The hitman has to babysit the kid after a botched job and teach him some life lessons.
“This came right after the Hollywood strike, about two years back,” Hoffman said. “I loved mixing the action with comedy—it was a blast.” He worked closely with director Allan Ungar to add fun touches, like his character’s over-the-top fake tan, without making the role too mean.
Shooting in Cape Town, South Africa, was a highlight for Hoffman. “First time there for me, and wow—it felt like another planet. One of the most stunning places on Earth.” He even shared stories from his 19-year-old self’s first girlfriend, who was from the area.
Hoffman and Duhamel, 52, had some “mature fun” on set, but kept it tame. Duhamel’s wife, Audra Mari, was expecting their son Shepherd at the time. “Josh was counting the days to get home for the birth,” Hoffman revealed. “He wrapped up just three days before the baby arrived—perfect timing!”
If you’re a “Suits” fan or just love Meghan Markle’s latest Netflix adventure, Hoffman’s take shows their old friendship is still going strong. Catch “London Calling” for more of his comic chops.
