J&K Police approaches Interpol for Red Corner Notice against Kashmiri doctor involved in terror module

Jammu & Kashmir police have asked Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice for a suspect named Dr Muzaffar, who hails from the Kulgam district of the state. The police say he is connected to a white‑collar terror ring that was recently busted in Faridabad, Haryana.
The plot involves a group of doctors who travelled to Turkey in 2021. According to police, the team included Dr Muzaffar, Dr Muzammil Ganaie and Dr Umar Nabi. During the trip they allegedly received training and support that later helped them plan violent attacks in India.
After the Faridabad raid, investigators traced the men’s movements. Dr Muzaffar disappeared after leaving India for Dubai in August, and the police now believe he is in Afghanistan. Dr Muzammil Ganaie and Dr Umar also left the country during the same trip, spending 21 days in Turkey.
Turkey has denied any role in the case. The country’s Directorate of Communication released a statement on Wednesday refusing that Turkey provides logistical, diplomatic or financial aid to Indian terrorists. “The claim that Turkey supports or radicalises Indian attackers is a false, disinformation campaign designed to harm our relations,” the statement said.
The Faridabad sting operation revealed that the group’s goal was a terrorist attack on Delhi. Dr Mohd Umar, who evaded arrest, was later killed when his car, loaded with explosives, detonated near the Red Fort – killing twelve people and injuring dozens more.
Jammu & Kashmir police will continue to pursue Dr Muzaffar, with Interpol’s Red Corner Notice in place to help track and stop him.”
