Mumbai, Oct 15 – The buzz around the upcoming Punjabi family‑comedy “Jassi Weds Jassi” just got louder when producers dropped the film’s first track, “Chamkeela.” The upbeat anthem, composed by Rev Shergill, was sung by Mohit Chauhan and has lyrics by Shergill and Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo.
Robust and lively, “Chamkeela” is all about dancing, smiling, and celebrating life. “It’s a peppy number that connects instantly with the festive mood,” said Chauhan in a quick video, adding he had a lot of fun recording it. “Listeners will feel that same energy when they hear it.”
Directed by Paran Bawa, the film boasts a star‑packed cast that includes Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo, Ranvir Shorey, Sikander Kher, Manu Rishi Chadha, Grusha Kapoor, Sudesh Lehri, Rehmat Rattan and Uditi Singh. The story is set in a vibrant 1990s backdrop, promising a hilarious mix of laughter, music, and crazy moments.
“We’re giving the world a celebration of Punjabi warmth, love, and that delightful madness that happens when too many Jassis meet,” Bawa said. “It’s funny, emotional, and something everyone will relate to.”
Harshh Vardhan, who plays a key Jassi character, echoed the excitement. “Playing this role is pure fun. I’ve enjoyed every moment of the madness, energy, and North Indian masti,” he said. “Can’t wait for audiences to experience it.”
Behind the scenes, Kush Chhabria handles the cinematography and Abhijit Deshpande edits the film. Fans can book their tickets for the theatrical release on November 7.
