In Mumbai on Nov. 12, television star Mohitt Maalik told reporters how he stepped into the shoes of Lord Shiva for the mythological series Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey.

The actor praised the show’s blend of divine drama and everyday emotion. “Balancing the godly calm of Shiva with his human side was the most fascinating part,” Maalik said. He added, “His peaceful aura comes from awareness, not detachment. As a husband and father, Shiva is present, patient, and grounded in his family, while still guided by a larger purpose. That mix makes the character feel real for everyone.”

Maalik compared the demands of mythology to modern roles. “Modern characters react to external events,” he explained. “Mythology is an inward journey. Every gesture, line, and pause carries deep meaning. I had to unlearn habits and practice spiritual discipline and stillness. It’s humbled me.”

Preparation for the role was intensive. Maalik began by studying scriptures and modern interpretations of Shiva. “Calmness can’t be acted; it has to be felt,” he said. He incorporates meditation before each shoot to ground himself, focusing on stillness rather than grand gestures.

Regarding his co‑stars, Maalik praised the chemistry on set. “We all share a real‐life comfort that shines on screen,” he smiled. “Shrenu Parikh as Parvati brings grace, while the actors playing Ganesh and Kartikey – Ekansh Kathrotiya and Subhan Khan – are full of energy and innocence, just as you’d imagine the Shiv Parivaar to be. We joke and rehearse like a real family.”

He teased the next episode without giving too many details. “The upcoming track dives deeper into the emotional core of the Shiv Parivaar. It explores the brothers’ bond, their duty, and the lessons Shiva and Parvati guide them through—storylines that echo real‑world conflicts. It’s heartfelt, visually stunning, and packed with spiritual meaning.”

Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey also stars Shrenu Parikh as Goddess Parvati, with Ekansh Kathrotiya as Kartikeya and Subhan Khan as Ganesh. The series continues to draw viewers with its fresh take on mythology and the relatable human stories woven into divine narratives.
