Actor Nana Patekar, through his Nirmala Gajanan Foundation, steps up to help families hit hard by cross-border shelling in Jammu and Kashmir. The foundation plans to provide rehabilitation support to 117 families in the Rajouri and Poonch districts, areas scarred by the intense fighting during Operation Sindoor.

Working closely with the Indian Army, the NGO will hand out packages worth Rs 42 lakh. Patekar and his fellow trustees head to Rajouri Garrison tomorrow, September 22, at 10 a.m., to personally distribute the aid and check on the families.

This push comes as part of efforts to rebuild lives for border residents who faced heavy shelling in the Pir Panjal region. The Indian Army and local civil administration back the initiative, showing their ongoing commitment to the welfare of people along the Line of Control.

The event draws military officers, government officials, foundation trustees, and the affected families themselves. It’s a chance to honor the resilience of folks enduring repeated cross-border hostilities.

The Nirmala Gajanan Foundation, named after Patekar’s parents, focuses on education and healthcare projects across India. They’ve partnered with the Indian Army to adopt 45 Army Goodwill Schools in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, helping kids in tough spots get a better start.

Through these actions, Patekar’s group keeps working to lift up communities and create real change for those in need.
