On Rishi Kapoor’s 73rd birthday, his wife Neetu Kapoor paid a heartfelt tribute to the legendary actor, saying he will “always remain in our hearts.” She shared a special video on Instagram from her show “Khullam Khulla – Live with Rishi Kapoor,” which featured family members and friends including his brother Randhir Kapoor, son Ranbir Kapoor, daughter Riddhima Kapoor, sister Reema Kapoor, filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, and veteran actor Jeetendra.
In her caption, Neetu wrote, “You will always remain in our hearts… happy birthday,” celebrating the beloved actor’s memory.
Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018 and traveled to New York for treatment. After a year of fighting the illness, he returned to India. Sadly, in April 2020, he was admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital due to breathing problems and passed away on April 30, 2020, from a leukemia recurrence.
Neetu and Rishi Kapoor married in 1980, and their love story is cherished by fans. In 2017, Rishi released his autobiography “Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored,” sharing his life experiences along with co-author Meena Iyer.
Apart from remembering Rishi Kapoor, Neetu and her son Ranbir Kapoor were recently seen celebrating Ganpati Visarjan. On August 31, they performed aarti and bid farewell to Lord Ganesha. Ranbir, dressed in a blue kurta and white pajama, carried the Ganesh idol while chanting “Ganpati bappa moraya,” and both mother and son participated in the prayer and coconut-breaking ritual. Neetu was seen in a white salwar suit during the festivities, showcasing the traditional celebrations with family and friends.
Looking ahead, Ranbir Kapoor and his wife Alia Bhatt are all set to reunite on the big screen soon. They will star together in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated film “Love and War,” also featuring Vicky Kaushal. Fans are eagerly waiting for this exciting Bollywood project.
