Mumbai, Oct 27 2025 – Indian film actor Nikitin Dheer shared a heartfelt post on his social media account today after receiving a condolence letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his late father, Pankaj Dheer.
In the post, which shows a clear copy of the letter, Nikitin wrote in Hindi, “श्री प्रधान मंत्री जी, आपने शब्दों से मेरे पिता को सम्मानित करने के लिए धन्यवाद @narendramodi (Respected Prime Minister, thank you for honouring my father with your words).” The photo and message were accompanied by a thank‑you note to the PM and his office.
Nikitin first expressed his grief on the day his father died on October 15. He said he had never been good at showing emotions on social media but had come to accept that loss brings many questions. “I lost my Dad, my Guru, my best friend … it shattered us as a family,” he posted in a separate update.
Following Pankaj Dheer’s death – attributed to cancer – thousands of people sent messages of love and respect. The actor thanked everyone who reached out, adding that the outpouring of support made him realize that a person’s legacy is measured in love and blessings rather than material things.
He reflected on the life lessons he learned from his father: “Pankaj taught me grit, character, loyalty, perseverance and to chase my dreams even if the world thinks you’re delusional.” Nikitin said he will continue to honour his father’s memory through his work as an actor and as a person.
In a final note, the actor thanked his family’s friends, well‑wishers, and a prominent spiritual guide, HH Swami Chidanand Shastri, for helping with his father’s final rites at Parmarth Aashram. He concluded the post with a traditional greeting: “जय माँ गंगे,” and expressed gratitude from his whole family.
Pankaj Dheer, a respected veteran actor known for films and television productions, left the industry on October 15 after a battle with cancer. His legacy lives on through his work, his son’s tribute, and the massive outpouring of support from fans and colleagues across India.
