Nimrat Kaur, the Bollywood actress, paid a touching tribute to her father, Major Bhupender Singh, on his 73rd birthday. The ceremony took place a year after the Indian Army unveiled his memorial in his hometown, Mohanpura, Rajasthan, and this time the focus shifted to the Kashmir memorial where he was martyred.
The actress took to Instagram to share a series of photos from the Kashmir site on Saturday. In her caption she wrote, “A year ago today, on my papa’s birth anniversary, his life was celebrated at Mohanpura. We didn’t know then that we would see his legacy cemented again in the very valley where he gave his life.” She added that she and her mother had the honour of visiting both his memorial in Srinagar’s Beacon area and the new “Titanic View Point” on National Highway 44. The view point marks the last post he served in.
Nimrat explained that the Border Roads Organization had worked hard to make the tribute possible. The organization opened a previously closed route to bring a bronze bust of her father from Jaipur to Kashmir. “The officer in charge said, ‘Just as Bhupender Sir truly merited to journey—like a noble fallen warrior,’” she wrote, expressing her deep gratitude to the Defence General‑Bureau of Roads, Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan, and Colonel Chirag Ghura, the chief engineer at Beacon Srinagar.
She reflected on her father’s sacrifice and the lasting legacy he left for her family, noting his favorite war cry, “Agrani Ajay,” a nod to his days as a Bengal Sapper. “Happy birthday, Papa,” she concluded, thanking her sister Rubina, mother, and the entire family for the support.
On a brighter note, Nimrat is currently busy filming the drama Kaalidhar Laapata. The Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil film K.D. stars Abhishek Bachchan as Kaalidhar, with Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and child actor Daivik Bhagela in supporting roles.
Nimrat’s Instagram post highlights both her personal devotion and her public contributions, reinforcing her standing as a beloved Bollywood actress and a heartfelt tribute to her father’s memory.
