Hyderabad – Renowned Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli celebrated his birthday this Friday, and fans and colleagues flooded his social‑media posts with birthday wishes.
NTR‑suketh, the star from Rajamouli’s smash‑hit “RRR”, took to his X (formerly Twitter) feed to share a behind‑the‑scenes snapshot from the period action drama. The photo shows the director and superstar deep in conversation, a candid look at their creative process. “Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Jakkana @ssrajamouli !! Loads of love ❤️,” NTR wrote, adding a heart emoji. The tweet received thousands of likes and replies from fans worldwide.
“RRR” hit theaters in 2022 and quickly became one of the biggest Indian releases of the year. The film tells a fictionalised story of two freedom fighters set in the pre‑independence era. In addition to NTR, the movie stars Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris, among others. Produced by D. V. V. Danayya under the DVV Entertainment banner, the film opened with the highest-ever first‑day earnings for an Indian movie at that time. It went on to rake in more than ₹400 crore, becoming the highest‑grossing film in the Telugu‑speak markets of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
While the film celebrates that success, Rajamouli is already busy on his next project. He announced a new drama featuring superstar Mahesh Babu and international star Priyanka Chopra. The project is slated for a November 2025 release. In a recent post, Rajamouli thanked fans for their patience, saying the story is so expansive that simple photos or press conferences won’t do it justice. He teased that he would unveil a “never‑before‑seen reveal” showcasing the film’s world‑building in November.
