Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, the longtime guitarist of Oasis, will skip the next leg of the band’s reunion tour after deciding to focus on treatment for prostate cancer.
Arthurs announced the decision on Instagram early this week, saying he had been diagnosed earlier in the year and that his treatment is going well enough to keep him on the “Live ’25” tour. However, he added that he needs a break to continue his care and will miss shows in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney from Oct 21 through Nov 8.
The tour, which started in July 2025 after an 18‑year break, has taken the original members — Liam and Noel Gallagher, Gem Archer and Andy Bell — on a world run. After the Asian and Australian dates, the group will head to South America, opening in Buenos Aires on Nov 15 before touring Chile and Brazil later that month.
“We’re all sending him best wishes,” the band wrote on Instagram. “We’ll see you back on stage in South America.” While a replacement guitarist hasn’t been named, Archer, who joined the group after Arthurs left in 1999, has been touring with the band recently.
The “Live ’25” tour is projected to bring in at least $200 million, thanks to lucrative deals with Live Nation and Adidas. Fans can still look forward to classic hits like “Wonderwall” and “Stop Crying Your Heart Out,” even as the band navigates front‑line health challenges and the legacy of their 2009 breakup.
