Pragya Kapoor, the Mumbai‑based actress and producer, stepped onto the Lakme Fashion Week runway for the first time in 13 years. The event, known for its glittering designers and high‑energy shows, reminded her of the early days of her fashion career and the many milestones she’s reached.
“I walked the ramp after a long break and was flooded with memories,” Kapoor told reporters. “Now I’m on the stage not as a model, but as a producer. It’s a different feeling – a chance to look back at where I started and where I am now. Seeing friends who still rock the runway was huge. It felt great to catch up and talk about what things were like back then.”
The actress said that fashion is her “voice of self‑expression.” She added that her return was more about celebrating her identity than pursuing perfection. “Fashion can change how we see ourselves, and I’m proud to be part of that change,” she said.
On the night, Kapoor wore a stunning heavy silver lehenga paired with bold accessories, turning heads as she made her polished entrance.
Beyond fashion, Kapoor is best known for her acting role in Amole Gupte’s film Hawaa Hawaai, where she played Pragya Nanda. She also entered film production, releasing Kedarnath in 2018 with Ronnie Screwvala, along with co‑producers Abhishek Kapoor and Abhishek Nayyar. She co‑founded Guy In The Sky Pictures and is set to produce the upcoming movie Sharaabi with Bhushan Kumar’s T‑Series.
For Kapoor, her return to the Lakme runway blends nostalgia, friendship, and a renewed sense of purpose in both the fashion and film worlds.
