Mumbai, Oct. 5 – Bollywood star Prateik Babbar told reporters that he only walks the catwalk with his wife, Priya Banerjee. When asked why, the actor said the walk feels “comfortable, confident and joyful” only when they’re together. He laughed, adding that he would not enjoy the runway with “another actress – no offence to beautiful women, but my wife is the only one I love to walk with.”
Prateik and Priya recently appeared on the same runway in crisp white gowns, sparking fans’ excitement online. The couple’s wedding, held at their home on Feb. 14, was a low‑key affair featuring haldi, mehendi, and the traditional pheras. They posted a string of dreamy photos on Instagram, captioning them “I’ll marry you in every lifetime #priyaKAprateik.”
The actor also explained his name change. “I took my mother’s last name, Smita Patil. There’s no shock in that – she’s my mother,” he said. Smita Patil was a celebrated Bollywood actress who passed away in the late 1990s. Babbar’s father, veteran actor Raj Babbar, later married Nadira Babbar. Their children, Arya and Juhi Babbar, said the family felt left out of the wedding and that the actor has grown distant from them.
Prateik was previously married to actress Sanya Sagar in 2019, but the couple split in 2023. The star’s recent announcements have once again put him in the spotlight for both his work on screen and his personal life.
