Acclaimed Bengali filmmaker Raj Chakraborty is diving into Hindi OTT waters with his directorial debut—a fresh romantic thriller series that’s still untitled. The show stars Priyanshu Painyuli in a complex, multi-layered role, alongside Aditi Pohankar, who adds her signature spark, Parambrata Chatterjee, known for his standout performances in Hindi hits like Kahaani and Bulbbul, and Sumeet Vyas.
Filming wrapped up recently in the picturesque spots of Kolkata and Darjeeling, blending real local vibes with plenty of cinematic flair. A source close to the project shared with , “This romantic thriller mixes emotions, suspense, and high-stakes drama in a way that’s totally unique.”
They highlighted the buzz around Priyanshu Painyuli and Sumeet Vyas teaming up for the first time, plus how Aditi Pohankar and Parambrata Chatterjee bring real power to the story. With Raj Chakraborty’s fresh take on Hindi directing, fans can expect a show packed with intensity and new energy.
Priyanshu Painyuli isn’t stopping there—he’s got a busy slate ahead. Next up is the film Pirates, where he plays an ethical hacker. To nail the role, he dove deep into prep, taking coding classes and picking up dark web lingo.
“I always do my homework,” Priyanshu told . “Whether it’s transforming my body, mastering a dialect, or getting inside a character’s head, I go all out.” For Pirates, he explained, “Playing an ethical hacker meant understanding how that mind works. So I learned coding and the dark web jargon—I didn’t want to just fake typing on screen. I needed to know what I was saying.”
He described the hacking world as deeply psychological and isolating. “Audiences have to believe this guy and feel his drive, so grasping the tech talk and the emotional side was key,” he added.
Pirates kicks off shooting next week in Delhi and promises a raw look at cyber warfare and ethical hacking.
On top of that, Priyanshu stars in the series Paan Parda Zarda, a gritty tale of illegal opium smuggling in central India. Producers announced it back in 2023.
He’s also lined up for the movie Tere Ishq Main, joining forces with Kriti Sanon and Dhanush. The film brings back the Raanjhanaa magic, with director Aanand L. Rai, Dhanush, and music wizard A.R. Rahman reuniting after their work on Atrangi Re.
