Fans of Tamil cinema are buzzing with excitement as the makers of Mari Selvaraj’s upcoming sports drama Bison Kaalamaadan dropped the high-energy track ‘Rekka Rekka’ on Tuesday. Starring Dhruv Vikram in the lead, this song has already got everyone talking, blending folk vibes with electronic beats for a fresh sound.
Director Mari Selvaraj shared the link on his X (formerly Twitter) account, captioning it in Tamil with a powerful message: "Kaatu Yaanaikku orupaatha, un kaalgal thedattum pudhu paathai. Bhoomi suthuthu unnakkaga, pugundhu purapadu puyalaaga!" (Translation: There’s one path for a wild elephant—let your feet search for a new way. The world spins for you; step in and whirl like a cyclone!) He added, "#RekkaRekka Out Now." Music composer Nivas K. Prasanna tuned the track, while singer-lyricist Arivu teamed up with singer Vedan for the vocals. Mari Selvaraj and Arivu crafted the inspiring lyrics that pack a punch.
If you’re new to the buzz, Bison Kaalamaadan (short for Bison) hits theaters on October 17 this year. The film promises an electrifying kabaddi story, with Dhruv Vikram stepping into the shoes of a passionate player. Anupama Parameswaran stars opposite him, and sources say the plot draws from real-life events, showcasing themes of passion, resilience, and unbeatable spirit.
The first look of Dhruv as Bison dropped back in March, and the movie comes from Applause Entertainment in partnership with Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Studios. Pa Ranjith, known for his bold films, co-produces alongside Sameer Nair, Deepak Saigal, and Aditi Anand. Behind the camera, Ezhil Arasu K. handles cinematography, and Sakthi Thiru takes care of editing.
Dhruv Vikram poured his heart into the role, training hard and pushing limits. When shooting wrapped, he shared an emotional Instagram post: "After years of preparation, several months of filming, shedding blood, sweat and tears, it’s finally a wrap on BISON.
