Actor Raghav Juyal stars as Parvaiz in the new Netflix series “The Bastards of Bollywood,” and he calls the experience totally freeing. In a chat with just before the show’s release, alongside his co-stars, Raghav explained how the role let him voice thoughts he keeps quiet about in real life.
“I think it gave me the chance to really express myself,” Raghav told . “As actors, we pour our voices into our craft. This show opened the door for me to share things I wouldn’t say otherwise. It felt so liberating—both as an artist and as an actor.”
Raghav has always emphasized that strong values start at home. He joked about the ongoing battle between family lessons and the wild influences from friends, adding a light-hearted touch to his insights on personal growth.
He also had high praise for the show’s director, Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan. Raghav highlighted how the Khan family raises grounded people. “Their family culture shines through,” he said. “It’s such a welcoming vibe—you feel right at home. Aryan is the son of the world’s biggest superstar, yet they’re so rooted. Family from Delhi, Dehradun, everywhere—they all chat in that real, down-to-earth way that never makes you feel out of place.”
Raghav shared warm stories about the Khan household. “It’s super homely. When Gauri ma’am (Shah Rukh’s wife) shows up, she insists, ‘Let’s eat first, then work.’ And touching elders’ feet? That’s a big North Indian tradition, and I saw it everywhere there. My mom met Aryan for the first time, and he was so kind and warm. Only family teaches you that stuff—friends just lead you astray,” he laughed.
Catch “The Bastards of Bollywood” streaming now on Netflix, where Raghav Juyal brings his fresh energy to the screen.
