Rajat Bedi, who just made a highly‑anticipated return to film with Aryan Khan’s “The B***s of Bollywood,” shares a handy story from his earlier days in the industry. The actor recalls a funny moment on the set of the 2011 hit “Partner,” where he shared a screen with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
In an interview with while celebrating his comeback, Bedi told reporters that Salman was a familiar face in his family. He said Salman’s father, Salim, had known his own father and grandfather, which earned Rajat a respectful nod from the star. However, their first meeting on the “Partner” set took a comedic turn.
“I was going to rock a spiky, funky hairstyle that was all the rage for David Dhawan’s film. When Salman walked over front of me for the first take, he burst out laughing,” Bedi recalled. He laughed back and wondered why Salman was so amused. “He just kept laughing and kept saying there was something funny wrong in my life,” he said.
Bedi admitted he didn’t realize how funny he looked until he saw the footage later. “I felt like a complete idiot on screen. Then I saw my brother laughing at me, and I went into full idiot mode. Salman’s laugh was contagious, and I knew those early days had tested my confidence.”
The story sheds light on Bedi’s lighter side in Bollywood, a stark contrast to his recent work. After “Partner,” Bedi’s résumé grew, but his most recent role is in Aryan Khan’s streaming project. Khan, the son of Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan, is a rising director whose team are huge fans of the sci‑fi hit “Koi Mil Gaya.” Bedi plays the “has‑been” star in the show, now available on Netflix.
Citizens with enthusiasm for Bollywood gossip now have a fresh look at how Rajat Bedi was well received by the bigger stars of the industry. Fans of “Partner,” “The B***s of Bollywood,” and Netflix’s new releases can enjoy the personal anecdotes behind the movie sets and have a good laugh with the star‑studded memories.
