Rock Band ‘The Smashing Pumpkins’ calls off their Indian debut performance citing “unexpected logistical challenges”

The Smashing Pumpkins have canceled their upcoming two‑night show in India, citing logistical issues beyond their control. The band announced the change on Facebook and said the cancellations would happen in both Bengaluru on October 11 and Mumbai on October 12.

The group called the postponement a disappointment for fans, stressing that they couldn’t meet the high standards the band and its audience expect. “Due to unexpected logistical challenges and conditions out of our control, we have to cancel our two upcoming shows in Bangalore and Mumbai,” the band wrote. “We cannot perform these shows up to the standards that we and our fans expect.”

The concerts were set to be part of the Rock Invasion 2025 Asia Tour. After starting the run in Japan in September, the band was scheduled to play Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Busan, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi before heading to India.

Fans in Bengaluru and Mumbai were set to hear a mix of classic hits like “Tonight,” “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” “Today,” and “1979,” along with newer tracks from Atum and Aghori Mhori Mei such as “Sighommi” and “Beguiled.” The band’s three‑decade span of music promised a memorable setlist.

While the cancellation is a setback for Indian fans, the Smashing Pumpkins’ Asia tour will continue in other cities as planned. The band’s team urges fans to stay tuned for updates.
