Saiyami Kher on wrapping up ‘Haiwaan’ at her alma mater: Felt like coming back home

Mumbai, Dec 8 – Actress Saiyami Kher has just wrapped up filming for Haiwaan at Xaviers, the very college she attended. She told LatestNewsX that shooting the movie there felt like stepping back into the place where her dreams started.
In her interview, Saiyami shared, “Wrapping Haiwaan in Xaviers was such a special feeling for me. Met some of the professors the same watchman’s and staff who were beaming with pride. This college shaped me and let me dream to become an actor.” She went on to say that walking those halls again, now as a film‑making actress, was surreal – almost as if life had come full circle. “It really felt like coming back home,” she added.
The film, head‑liner for stars Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan and Sharib Hashmi, was shot in scenic spots such as Kochi, Ooty and Mumbai. Production kicked off in August and marks the first time in nearly two decades that Akshay and Saif share the screen.
Akshay teased the reunion on Instagram back in August, posting a behind‑the‑scenes clip with Saif and director Priyadarshan. He captioned the video: “Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan… Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se Haiwaan :)) Starting the shoot for #Haiwaan today with my absolute favourite captain of the ship, @priyadarshan.official Sir. Great to be working with Saif after nearly 17 years. Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling!! @kvn.productions @thespianfilms_ind”.
This collaboration follows their earlier pairing in the flop Tashan. Meanwhile, Akshay and Priyadarshan are also preparing a horror drama called Bhoot Bangla, expected to hit theatres toward the end of 2025, re‑uniting one of Hindi cinema’s most commercially successful actor‑director teams.
