Mumbai, Oct 10 – Bollywood star Salman Khan shared a tear‑filled post on X (formerly Twitter) after the sudden death of bodybuilder and actor Varinder Singh Ghuman. The act of kindness came as Khan reflected on a set photo from the 2011 film Dabangg, where both men wore the same police uniform for their roles. “Rest In Peace, Pra. Will Miss You, Paaji,” Khan typed, honoring his friend who died in Amritsar.
Varinder Ghuman lost his life to a heart attack while in a private hospital. His manager, Yadvinder Singh, said the veteran had reported shoulder pain before being admitted. Ghuman later suffered a cardiac arrest. His nephew, Amanjyot Singh Ghuman, confirmed the news in Jalandhar. He was a celebrated vegetarian bodybuilder, earning the Mr. India title in 2009 and placing second at the Mr. Asia competition.
Ghuman built a career in Indian cinema, appearing in Hindi and Punjabi movies. Notable roles included a cameo in Tiger 3 (2023) alongside Khan, a 2014 appearance in Roar: Tigers of Sundarbans, and a screen turn in the Punjabi hit Kabaddi – The Game of Love (2012). The industry, along with political leaders, paid tribute. Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu called Ghuman the “pride of Punjab” and lamented his loss.
The tragedy happened as Punjab faced severe floods in July and August 2025. Salman Khan had spoken out in support of flood relief, encouraging the public and his fan base to donate. Ghuman himself praised Khan for bringing national attention to the crisis. He thanked “Salman Bhai” for using his platform and for the charitable work of Khan’s organization, Being Human, in flood relief efforts.
Relatives, co‑actors and fans expressed their grief across social media, noting Ghuman’s powerful presence on and off screen. The actor’s sudden death leaves a wide‑spreading void in Bollywood and India’s bodybuilding community. The news continues to resonate across fans worldwide.
