Salman Khan visits Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta while filming ‘Battle of Galwan’

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan made a special stop in Leh during the shoot of his upcoming film Battle of Galwan. On Saturday, he visited Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta at Raj Niwas, the official residence in Ladakh’s capital.
Dressed in a casual blue shirt and denims, Salman shared warm smiles with the LG in photos that quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter). The visit highlighted Salman’s growing connection to Ladakh, where the movie is being filmed.
As a gesture of appreciation, the Lieutenant Governor gifted Salman a stunning Thangka Canvas painting. This traditional Buddhist artwork beautifully depicts key moments from Buddha’s life, showcasing Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage.
The Office of the Lt. Governor shared the news on X, posting: “Bollywood icon Salman Khan paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor Shri @KavinderGupta at the Raj Niwas, #Leh.”
Just a couple of days earlier, on Tuesday, Salman gave fans a sneak peek into the Battle of Galwan sets. He posted a behind-the-scenes photo on social media, where he’s playfully peeking through a clapperboard. Rocking combat fatigues with a jacket featuring military insignia and layers of the old Personal Camouflage Disruptive Pattern Material (PC DPM), Salman nailed the soldier look. This uniform style nods to the 2020-2021 Galwan standoff period—before the Indian Army switched to the modern New Battle Dress Uniform (NBDU) with Indian National Camouflage (INCAM) in 2022.
For context, the Battle of Galwan film draws from the real-life 2020 clash in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley, a tense border area between India and China. With guns banned in the zone, Indian and Chinese soldiers fought hand-to-hand using sticks and stones. It was the first deadly encounter in the Sino-Indian border dispute in over four decades, claiming lives on both sides and spotlighting the bravery of Indian troops.
Adding to the excitement, Himesh Reshammiya is composing the music for this patriotic drama. While Salman hasn’t revealed the release date yet, fans are already buzzing about this tribute to the Galwan heroes.
