Sanjay Mishra shares why his role as Dulha in ‘Durlabh Prasad Ki Dusri Shaadi’ is special to him
Mumbai, October 16 – Sanjay Mishra has just shown his first look as the quirky bridegroom in the upcoming comedy‑drama “Durlabh Prasad Ki Dusri Shaadi.” The actor’s new avatar looks straight out of a village wedding scene, with a photo frame of the bride hanging from his hands instead of a real bride.
In a short statement, Mishra said the character “belongs in your heart because of his simplicity and innocence.” He added that the film blends humor with emotion, promising viewers a smile that also makes them think. “I’m excited for audiences to meet this unique dulha and his equally unique journey,” he wrote.
Producers Ekansh and Harsha Bachchan called the film a “light‑hearted satire that tackles serious social themes with humour and heart.” They want the story to entertain while encouraging reflection. “‘Durlabh Prasad Ki Dusri Shaadi’ will make you laugh and pause at the same time,” the duo said.
Sanjay Mishra posted the first‑look poster on Instagram on Thursday, captioning it: “The bride has been found – get ready, the barat is coming soon to cinemas near you or far. #DurlabhPrasadKiDusriShadi.” The image features Mahima Chaudhary as the glowing dulhan, while Mishra’s character holds a photo frame of her instead of a bride on a chariot.
The film also stars Mahima Chaudhary, Vyom, Pallak Lalwani, Pravin Singh Sisodia, and Shrikant Verma in key roles. Produced by Eksha Entertainment, the plot follows a son’s mission to secure a second marriage for his middle‑aged, widowed father. Things get complicated when a prospective in‑law family refuses to send their daughter into a home lacking a woman, forcing the son to confront traditions, societal norms, and his father’s own hesitations.
“Durlabh Prasad Ki Dusri Shaadi” is directed by Siddhant Raj Singh. The movie lands on the screens soon, promising an entertaining mix of comedy and heartfelt moments that spotlight fresh takes on marriage and family in India.
