Mumbai: Singer Shaan, known for his hit songs, once dipped his toes into acting with the 2014 comedy film Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya, starring alongside Mika Singh. But as he spilled the beans on The Great Indian Kapil Show, it turns out the whole experience was a hilarious mix-up!
Host Kapil Sharma couldn’t resist teasing Shaan, asking, "Shaan bhai, was acting always your big dream, or did someone pull you into it?"
Shaan laughed it off and admitted Mika Singh totally misled him. "I was on a family holiday with my wife and kids when Mika called me up," Shaan shared. "He said, ‘Bhai, let’s do this movie together! The script is amazing – it’ll be a total laugh riot.’ I thought he’d read it and everything was set. Plus, he mentioned big names like Anupam Kher and Asrani ji were on board. How could I say no?"
But reality hit hard on set. Shaan arrived excited, only to discover there was no script at all! "We’d just wing it every day," he explained. "The director would decide scenes on the spot in the morning, tell the crew, and then vanish. Those bits? They never even made it to the final film – it was all just to kill time until Mika showed up after 2 PM."
Shaan painted a funny picture of his days on the Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya set. "I’d show up in full makeup, wandering around like a lost soul, doing random stuff until Mika finally rolled in. Then the real shooting would start!"
