Mumbai’s streaming fans have something exciting to look forward to: the teaser for Season 2 of the hit show “Jamnapaar” dropped on Tuesday, giving viewers a sneak peek into protagonist Shanky’s evolving life. This young guy from East Delhi once thought escaping his Jamnapaar roots in Laxmi Nagar was the key to respect and success. But now, as cash, big dreams, and family bonds clash, Shanky faces tough choices that challenge his integrity and core beliefs.
Ritvik Sahore steps back into the lead role as Shanky, bringing heart to the story. He shares the screen with a strong lineup, including Varun Badola, Ankita Sehgal, Shrishti Ganguly Rindani, Anubha Fatehpura, Dhruv Sehgal, and Inder Sahani. The teaser adds a fun twist by introducing versatile actor Vijay Raaz in a quirky scene, ramping up the anticipation.
Director Pratish Mehta helms the season, with Khushbu Baid handling the writing and TVF producing. Expect deep performances, smart plots, and relatable themes that hit home—think identity struggles, chasing aspirations, class divides, and unbreakable family ties. The series follows Shantanu “Shanky” Bansal, a guy from modest East Delhi beginnings who yearns to break into the flashy corporate scene of South Delhi. It dives into his doubts about his background and the pull between climbing the ladder and honoring where he came from.
Ritvik Sahore opened up about getting into character during an earlier chat. He shared that the show helped him see he could never hack it as a CA, or Chartered Accountant. “Luckily, I grew up around a few CA friends,” Ritvik said. “Plus, the writers were CA hopefuls from Jamnapaar themselves, so their real-life tips let me nail the mindset of a CA student and bring Shanky to life on screen. It’s hilarious—it made me realize I’d never make it as a CA for real. Still, I’m so thankful to live that world through the role.”
