Shekhar Kapur, the Indian film director behind hits like Elizabeth and Mr. India, shared a heartfelt Instagram post for his daughter, Kaveri. The caption, accompanied by a throwback photo of Kaveri as a child, spoke of his love and the deep meaning her presence brings to his life.

Kapur wrote, “Every ‘daughter’s day’ feels special. I was like a kite in a storm, but you grounded me. You’re the string that ties me to life.” He praised Kaveri’s resilience and how she faces life in her own unique way, adding that she has even taught him new wisdom.

The filmmaker noted his concern for Kaveri, described as having an “ancient soul” inside a young body. He said he sees the same restless spirit in her poetry, music, and compassion, and he hopes that the tension between youth and depth will soon settle.

Kaur reflected on how different their childhoods were, calling himself simply “silly” compared to her maturity. He ended with a playful note: “Love you, @kaverikapur. I love this pic. Girl power!”

For context, Kapur married actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi in 1999. They have one daughter, Kaveri, and divorced in 2007. The post resonates with fans who appreciate the candid affection between a renowned filmmaker and his daughter.
