Shilpa Shetty Clarifies: Bastian, Her Famous Mumbai Restaurant, Is Not Closing Down
There’s been a lot of buzz lately about the future of Shilpa Shetty’s popular Bandra restaurant, Bastian. Fans and food lovers speculated that it might shut forever. But Shilpa herself has set the record straight — Bastian is here to stay, just in a new form!
In an Instagram video, the actress reassured everyone that Bastian will not close. Instead, she shared exciting news about new restaurants she’s launching. She explained that Bastian in Bandra will become a South Indian restaurant called Ammakai, serving delicious Mangalorean cuisine. At the same time, the original Bastian is moving to Juhu and rebranding as Bastian Beach Club.
Shilpa said, “No, I am not shutting down Bastian, I promise.” She added that she has received many calls from fans worried about her beloved restaurant, but she wants everyone to know that Bastian is transforming, not ending.
She explained, “We always love introducing new food and experiences. That’s why we’re opening two new places. Ammakai will bring authentic South Indian flavors to our original Bandra spot, and Bastian Beach Club in Juhu will carry on the Bastian hospitality with a new vibe.”
The actress expressed her excitement about these changes. “Bandra Bastian was the root of our hospitality journey. Now, it’s evolving into Ammakai, which takes me back to my roots with South Indian Mangalorean cuisine. And Bastian in Juhu will be a beachside experience — Bastian Beach Club. So, Bastian is staying — it’s not going anywhere!”
Shilpa also gave full credit to her brother and business partner, Ranjeet Bindra, for helping turn this vision into reality. “Thanks to my brother for his passion and expertise in transforming our hospitality business. We can’t wait for you to try these new flavors and experience what’s coming next.”
