Mumbai, Oct 17 – Shilpa Shetty, the famous Bollywood actress, also runs the popular Bastian restaurant chain. Last Friday she opened a new Bastian branch in Goa, starting the ceremony with a traditional puja.
The “Sukhee” actress shared a clip on her Instagram Stories. Dressed in a white printed salwar kameez, she performed what looked like a humble yagna, blessing the new location. Her followers quickly flooded the comments with joy.
Later in September, rumors hit the airwaves that Shilpa’s flagship Bastian in Bandra might close. She quickly set the record straight. In a candid video, she said, “I am not shutting down Bastian. We’re keeping it alive.” She explained that the Bandra outlet will change its focus. It will become Ammakai, a brand that showcases pure South‑Indian Mangalorean dishes, while the original Bastian name will move to Bastian Beach Club in Juhu.
“I’ve received many calls from fans, and I hear your love for Bastian,” she told her followers. “We’re not going anywhere. In fact, we’re expanding. We’re opening not one, but two new places.” She added, “Ammakai lets us return to my roots, and Bastian Beach Club will bring our beloved hospitality to the Juhu coast.”
Shilpa thanked her business partner and CEO, Ranjeet Bindra, for shaping this new direction. “His vision and passion are powering this transformation,” she said, adding a hopeful “Godspeed” as she signed off.
The move positions Bastian as a multi‑location brand, keeping the Bandra door open for South‑Indian cuisine while stretching its reach to Goa and Juhu. Shilpa Shetty’s twin focus on acting, business, and culinary ventures continues to attract fans and food lovers across India.
