Mumbai, Dec 10 (LatestNewsX) – Shraddha Arya, who is best known for her work on television, joined the Indian Navy’s Beating Retreat and Tattoo Ceremony in Mumbai.
The TV actress shared a series of photos from the event on her Instagram page. In the caption she wrote: “The Indian Navy’s Beating Retreat and Tattoo Ceremony at the Gateway of India was absolutely phenomenal! A perfect blend of heritage, music, and naval excellence. Swipe to feel the pride”.
The show included a fly‑by of a helicopter and a dazzling light display over the Gateway of India. Traditionally, the Beating Retreat signals the conclusion of a day’s activities for a fleet, a practice that dates back to 17th‑century battlefield signalling.
During the ceremony the Navy’s band performed a range of stirring martial tunes, patriotic songs and classic naval pieces. Sailors carried out synchronized drills, rifle displays and ceremonial manoeuvres that showcased discipline and teamwork. The part known as “Tattoo” featured dynamic formations, sometimes illuminated by laser projections that celebrated the navy’s rich history. On occasion, aircraft fly‑pasts or ship lighting were added to the programme.
The occasion united service members, dignitaries and civilians, offering a rare window into the Navy’s ceremonial prowess. The blend of music, pageantry and tradition makes the Beating Retreat and Tattoo a proud display of the Indian Navy’s spirit, honour and maritime culture.
Shraddha’s husband, Rahul Nagal, serves in the Navy. The couple married on 16 November 2021 in a modest ceremony in Delhi that drew attention for its sincerity and warmth – a sharp contrast to typical show‑biz weddings.
Since then, they largely kept their personal life away from the public eye, sharing only a few posts on social media. In November 2024, the pair welcomed their first children – twin siblings, a boy and a girl – marking a joyful milestone in their family’s story. Their marriage continues to be seen as steady, grounded and affectionate.
