Mumbai – 19 October
Actress Sonam Khan shared a heart‑warming blast from the past, recalling her early days in Bollywood and the special friendship she forged with superstar Govinda.

On Sunday, the comedian‑turned‑actor posted a throwback photo on Instagram that shows the two stars posing together on set. In the caption, Sonam reflected on how Govinda’s warmth, humility and constant encouragement helped her break through the challenges of a newcomer.

“Govinda was like a mentor,” she wrote. “He kept telling me, ‘You’re just like me,’ because we both came from humble beginnings.” She remembered how Govinda would even hold her hand and teach her dance steps right on set, much to the frustration of choreographers who weren’t used to a rookie who couldn’t dance.

She added that despite having a packed schedule and no formal dance training, Govinda was always there, guiding her through every take. “I had signed over 30 films but I couldn’t dance – I had no time to rehearse. Yet Govinda always came to my rescue and taught me the steps before each shoot,” she said. “He’s the most humble co‑actor I’ve ever worked with.”

The pair has appeared together in several Bollywood hits including Baaz, Apmaan Ki Aag, Asmaan Se Ooncha and Raeeszada. Their friendship remains strong, and Sonam’s Instagram post reminded fans of the golden era of Bollywood comedy and camaraderie.
