Chennai, Dec 3 (LatestNewsX) – The production house behind director S Manibharathi’s upcoming thriller The Bed, starring Srikanth and Srushti Dange, has just confirmed that the film will hit screens in January next year.
The project, financed by V. Vijayakumar on behalf of Srinidhi Productions, just secured a release deal with Anjaneya Productions from Coimbatore.
Alongside the leads, supporting roles feature John Vijay, Black Pandi, Pappu, and Devi Priya, adding depth to the story.
According to industry insiders, The Bed—written and directed by S Manibharathi, who previously helmed Vettu Vettu and Parivarthanai—delivers a fresh cinematic experience that sets the film apart from conventional thrillers.
The shoot took place amid the dramatic beauty of the Nilgiris, with mist‑laden forest trails and sprawling tea estates providing a tranquil backdrop.
Director S Manibharathi explained that the film’s narrative is told not through a traditional human protagonist but through the silent perspective of a bed, positioned in a secluded cottage in Ooty. The bed witnesses the private dramas and unspoken desires of the people who occupy its space.
Speaking about the journey of shaping The Bed, S Manibharathi said, “Producer Vijayakumar and our lead actor Srikanth are the greatest blessings this film has given me. The moment Anjaneya Productions’ K. Kandasamy and K. Ganesan watched the film, they came forward to release it immediately. For that, I remain deeply grateful. Releasing The Bed at the dawn of a New Year will feel like a celebration for audiences. We shot the romantic scenes in the midnight frost of Ooty under brutal conditions, yet the results are some of the film’s most cherished moments.”
He added, “What excites me most is the originality of our narrative. Rather than a human telling the story, the screenplay unfolds through the gaze of a bed inside a cottage—a silent witness to human joy, sorrow, love, and secrets. That perspective, I believe, will stay with the audience long after the film ends.”
Technical excellence is further highlighted by the work of cinematographer K. Gokul, music composer Taj Noor, lyricist Yugabharathi, editor J. P., and art director Palanivel, with A. V. Palanisamy operating as production executive.
