Steve Carell made a surprise visit to actress Jenna Fischer while she was onstage in her new play, “Ashland Avenue.”
The backstage visit was captured in a video Fischer shared on Instagram. The clip shows Carell buzzing the patrons, shouting “How great is she in this play?” before giving Fischer a big, friendly hug. He also posed for a group photo with the rest of the cast and a fan‑captured shot of him as Michael Scott watching Pam Beesly’s art show.
Fischer’s post read, “Look who came to my art show,” nodding to her beloved Pam Beesly from The Office. She added, “Love you Steve and Nancy! Last four shows this weekend. I don’t want it to end.”
Other The Office alumni chimed in. Kate Flannery—who played Meredith Palmer—commented, “Love the live. It’s kinda like Michael coming to Pam’s art show.” A few months earlier, Fischer had also met up with Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute), who called the lunch “reuniting with one of my favorite people on the planet.”
“Ashland Avenue” is staged at Goodman’s Albert Theatre in Chicago. The one‑act drama, written by Fischer’s husband Lee Kirk and directed by Susan V. Booth, follows the quirky owner of Pete’s TV & Video store, famous for its legendary commercials and outstanding customer service.
Fans of The Office and theatre alike can catch the final shows of the play this weekend, where star‑studded surprises and heartfelt scenes are sure to keep audiences cheering.
