Mumbai – The buzz is building for the new Indian drama “Ziddi Ishq,” whose trailer hit the screens on Friday. Fans can stream the show from November 21 on JioHotstar, the popular Indian OTT platform that’s recently been home to a wave of fresh, Hindi‑language originals.
The series promises a gripping mix of love, passion and revenge. “Ziddi Ishq” follows Mehul, a young Bengali woman who falls hard for Shekhar Da. When the business tycoon dies in what everyone calls a suicide, Mehul’s heartbreak turns into a relentless quest for truth and vengeance. The story dives into the dark side of affection, showing how desire can heal and destroy in equal measure.
Sumeet Vyas, who plays the powerful but conflicted Shekhar, says the drama captivated him right away. “I love love stories that push the boundaries,” he told reporters. “The writing lets us see a charismatic leader who still hides a deeper turmoil. That honesty makes this role standout.”
Parambrata Chattopadhyay, another key cast member, shares similar excitement. “Shekhar is a human being, not a typical hero or villain,” he said. “He’s driven by pure love but trapped by his own emotions, which makes his journey relatable.”
Aaditi Pohankar portrays Mehul, a woman who fights with fearless passion. “Her love is intense, one‑sided but pure,” Pohankar explained. “Playing Mehul meant confronting the messy knots of love and obsession, something I found incredibly real.”
Director-songwriter Raj Chakraborty leads the creative team, arguing that “Ziddi Ishq” delves into emotions that we all feel but rarely admit. He added that the show will pull viewers into a world where love can become all‑consuming and blur the line between right and wrong.
Other supporting roles, played by Barkha Bisht and Riya Sen, weave a tangled web of secrets, betrayal and passion. Together, the characters create a rain‑dark, emotionally charged narrative that draws its roots from the evocative landscapes of Bengal.
With its blend of romance, revenge and psychological depth, “Ziddi Ishq” positions itself among the top new Indian TV series and could quickly become a favorite for binge‑watchers on JioHotstar. When it launches on November 21, audiences can expect a rollercoaster of feelings, bold storytelling, and a fresh take on the classic love‑and‑payback trope.
