Mumbai, September 23 – It’s hard to believe, but Dibakar Banerjee’s beloved comedy “Khosla Ka Ghosla” just turned 19 years old. To celebrate, actress Tara Sharma shared a nostalgic trip down memory lane on Instagram, posting throwback photos from the set and reminiscing about the hilarious times she spent with stars like Anupam Kher and Boman Irani.
Tara, who played a key role in the film, uploaded a carousel of old snaps and wrote a touching caption. “I’ve always loved taking photos and making little notes about them,” she said. “Here are a few from our film #KhoslaKaGhosla that is 19 today! Wow, how time flies.” She revealed she even keeps an album with diary entries next to each picture, capturing all the fun and adventures during the shoot. “I guess I was #vlogging and Insta-storying before it really became a thing!” Tara added, pointing fans to a video on her YouTube channel, The Tara Sharma Show, where she flips through the album and reads some entries.
Looking back sparked sweet memories for her. “Had forgotten lots of little details, so it’s really lovely to look back once in a while,” she shared. Tara called herself “nerdy” for cherishing these moments but said she’s deeply grateful to have been part of this “little film with a big heart” that became a massive hit and cult classic in Bollywood. She recalled her excitement from landing the role after three auditions and learning so much from working with talented actors like Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Ranvir Shorey, Vinay Pathak, and Parvin Dabas.
In her post, Tara thanked everyone involved, tagging co-stars such as @anupampkher, @boman_irani, @ranvirshorey, and @pathakvinay, along with director Dibakar Banerjee, composer Jaideep Sahni, and producers from UTV Films and Tandav Films. “Thank you all for the amazing times and here’s to many more,” she wrote, adding a hopeful note to stay safe.
For those new to the gem, “Khosla Ka Ghosla” marked Dibakar Banerjee’s directorial debut back in 2006. The story follows middle-class Delhi dreamer Kamal Kishore Khosla (Anupam Kher) and his family as they battle a sly property developer, Khurana (Boman Irani), to reclaim their stolen plot of land. With its sharp wit and relatable family drama, the movie hit theaters on September 22, 2006, and quickly won fans for its clever take on everyday Indian life.
