Mumbai actor Teja Sajja is all praise for filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli, crediting him for opening global doors for Indian cinema talents. As Teja gears up for his exciting new film Mirai, he shared these thoughts in a chat with at a swanky 5-star hotel in Juhu’s buzzing scene.
Talking about India’s famous ‘Jugaad’ culture – that clever way of innovating with limited resources – Teja explained how it shapes Bollywood and South Indian films. "Necessity is the mother of invention," he said with a smile. "We face budget limits and smaller setups today, so we get creative and make the most of it."
But Teja is super optimistic about the future, especially after Rajamouli’s blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR wowed international audiences. "Rajamouli sir has paved the way for us to showcase our talent worldwide," Teja added. "His next film will make it even easier. Soon, Indian movies will hit theaters as mainstream hits abroad, bringing bigger budgets and letting us create epics just like them."
Mirai, a thrilling fantasy action adventure, stars Teja as the mighty Super Yodha, on a mission to safeguard ancient scriptures. The film, produced by People Media Factory, promises rooted Indian stories with global appeal. "We’re already doing fantastic work – films that mean something and draw from our rich culture," Teja enthused. "We don’t need to copy Western movies. Our inspirations come from Indian epics, our itihasas, traditions, and land. We can share these stories with the world."
Mark your calendars: Mirai releases worldwide on September 12, 2025. Fans of Indian cinema and Teja Sajja can’t wait to see this one!
