The show The Buccaneers has been renewed for a third season on Apple TV+, according to Variety.
The drama, based on Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel, follows a group of young American girls who upend the dating scene in 1870s London. In season 3 the girls not only stay together but also fight back for the love of their lives. A new, enigmatic Duke will soon challenge the iconic Tintagel, hinting at fresh drama for the title character.
Season 2 starred Kristine Frøseth, Alisha Boe, Aubri Ibrag, Josie Totah, Imogen Waterhouse, Mia Threapleton, Christina Hendricks, Leighton Meester, Grace Ambrose, Maria Almeida, Amelia Bullmore, Fenella Woolgar, Guy Remmers, Matthew Broome, Josh Dylan, Barney Fishwick, Greg Wise and Jacob Ifan.
Series creator Katherine Jakeways said she’s “thrilled to lace up corsets, slip into ball gowns and run across Tintagel’s cliffs” again to see what new adventures await the Buccaneers. She thanked Apple TV+ and the fans for their support.
Jakeways writes the series, which Season 2 was directed by William McGregor, Rachel Leiterman, John Hardwick and Charlie Manton. Executive producers include Jakeways and Beth Willis, with Joe Innes joining as an executive producer for the new season.
