Steve Bridges, the TikTok comedian who made millions laugh with his funny “point‑of‑view” sketches, died on Oct. 15 at the age of 41.
His wife, Chelsey, posted the sad news on his Instagram. In a short video she said Steve passed away “peacefully in his sleep.” The Peoria, Illinois police confirmed that officers responded to a call that a natural death had occurred at his home on Wednesday.
Steve was best known for playing exaggerated everyday characters – from a slick solar‑panel salesman to a goofy “deadbeat boyfriend” – in the short videos that racked up more than 2 million followers across TikTok and Instagram. His wife often appeared in the clips, adding a warm family vibe.
Chelsey talked about her husband’s dedication to fitness and health. He had taken extra care after family members died young – his grandmother at 52 and both his father and grandfather in their 40s. “I’m not going to tell my children they can’t grieve online,” she said. “I’ll probably grieve online too. Live your dreams, love your family, and take care of yourself.”
Steve and Chelsey were married for 16 years and had three children—a 14‑year‑old daughter and 10‑year‑old twin sons.
Friends and fans alike rushed to support the family. A GoFundMe page raised over $36,000 in just a few hours. Eric Mathis, a filmmaker who worked with Steve, called him “an incredible talent beloved by millions,” noting his kindness, authenticity, and passion for comedy.
Chelsey said funeral arrangements will remain private. Steve’s legacy lives on through the millions of fans who still share his hilarious sketches across the internet.
