Hollywood star Tom Holland is no longer in talks to play James Bond, according to reports. The 29‑year‑old actor’s current deal with Marvel Studios blocks him from taking on roles that could compete with his lead in the Spider‑Man series.
People in the film world had previously speculated that Holland could replace Daniel Craig. He once said he was open to the idea and called the role the “pinnacle” of his career. A source told The Sun that “Tom can’t play two superheroes – it just won’t happen.”
Holland’s own comments confirm the word on the street. In a YouTube interview with Gordon Ramsay, he said the rumors were still swirling, but he would keep them to a minimum and hoped something might come up “one day.” When asked about the life changes a Bond part would bring, Holland shrugged. “It would be a huge opportunity—every young British actor wants it,” he said. “I feel lucky to be where I am now.”
The upcoming Bond film will be the 26th entry in the franchise. Denis Villeneuve is set to direct, and the script is being written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. Production plans call for work at Pinewood Studios in the UK in April next year. The story will explore the dangers of artificial intelligence, marking the first Bond film in the AI era. Sources say filmmakers want the new movie to feel bold, fresh, and relevant after the long break.
With these changes, Hollywood fans will be watching closely to see who will step into 007’s role and how the franchise will evolve in a digital age.
