Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan is stepping into big shoes as he takes on the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming biopic “Maa Vande.” He calls the experience overwhelming but truly inspiring, especially as it lets him dive deep into Modi’s life story, hard work, and big dreams for India.
The film announcement came right on PM Modi’s 75th birthday today, with the makers sharing exciting updates on social media. Unni jumped in too, posting the movie poster on his Instagram and opening up about his feelings.
In his post, Unni wrote that he’s honored to play the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi in “Maa Vande,” directed by Kranthi Kumar CH and produced by the team behind it. Growing up in Ahmedabad, he first knew Modi as his Chief Minister during childhood. Fast forward to April 2023, when Unni got to meet him in person—a moment that stuck with him forever.
“As an actor, this role feels huge but so motivating,” Unni shared. The movie isn’t just about Modi’s amazing political rise; it focuses on the real man behind it all, especially his close bond with his mother, who shaped his strong character.
Unni also remembered a powerful Gujarati phrase Modi told him: “Jhookvanu Nahi,” meaning “Never Bow Down.” Those words have guided him through tough times, giving him strength and determination.
“Maa Vande” will hit screens worldwide in all major Indian languages. On this birthday special, Unni wished PM Modi a happy 75th and invited fans to catch the film soon.
