Mumbai, Oct 18 – Bollywood star Varun Dhawan is spreading Diwali cheer by playing and singing the hit track “Perfect” on the radio. In a quick Instagram story, the actor was shown in his car, belting out a few lines of the song. He added, “Back in the bay. Perfect is playing on the radio. Perfect time. Sunny Sanskari Happy Diwali (sic).”
The clip comes just as Dhawan’s new romantic‑comedy, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, is gearing up for release. Written and directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions, the film also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi. The story follows Ananya and Vikram, two jilted lovers who team up with Sunny and Tulsi to crash their ex‑partners’ wedding.
“Perfect” is a feel‑good number performed by music star Guru Randhawa. The song’s music and lyrics were crafted by Randhawa, Gill Machhrai and Rony Ajnali, with production led by Dilmaan. The catchy tune has already become a fan favourite on radio and streaming platforms.
While fans enjoy the fun Diwali post, Dhawan is also sharpening his focus for an upcoming big‑budget project: the war epic Border 2. Starring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, the film, directed by Anurag Singh, is set to hit screens on Jan 22, 2026. Border 2 will revisit the Kargil War of 1999, following the tense standoff between India and Pakistan after Pakistani troops crossed the Line of Control.
Border 2 is the sequel to the 1997 film Border, which dramatized the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 Indo‑Pakistani War. The original, directed by J. P. Dutta, featured an ensemble cast that included Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, and others.
With Dhawan’s easy‑going Diwali post and his serious commitment to a large‑scale war film, Bollywood audiences have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
