Varun Tej Konidela on ‘Kanche’: A film that tested us, taught us, and changed us!

Hyderabad, Oct 22 — Actor Varun Tej Konidela marked the 10‑year anniversary of his first hit, the Telugu war drama Kanche. On social media, he thanked director Krish Jagarlamudi, the film’s lead stars, and the entire crew for the movie’s impact.

He posted, “Ten years of #Kanche – a film that tested us, taught us, and changed us. Forever grateful to my director @DirKrish, my amazing co‑actors, and our incredible team who gave their all.” 

Varun also showed appreciation to the Telugu audience and the National Awards jury for the film’s honest screening as Best Regional Feature Film. “Thank you to the Telugu audience for making Kanche a true milestone in my journey and for its recognition as Best Regional Feature Film at the National Awards,” he added.

He sent a personal thank‑you to longtime friend Levan Sikharulidze and mentioned co‑stars @ItsMePragya, @nikitindheer, and others, ending with a nod to lyricist Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry.

Earlier, the production house First Frame Entertainment celebrated the decade milestone on their pages. “Celebrating 10 glorious years of #Kanche – a film that redefined storytelling with emotion, love, and sacrifice. Forever grateful to the wonderful cast, crew, and audience who made this film truly special.”

Kanche stars Pragya Jaiswal and Nikitin Dheer alongside Varun Tej. The crew included cinematographer Gnana Shekar V S, music director Chirantan Bhatt, art director Sahi Suresh, and editors Suraj Jagtap and Rama Krishna Arram. The story follows two former friends who become comrades in the British Indian Army during World War II.

The film, promoted as Telugu cinema’s first World War II feature, earned numerous honors. It took home the National Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu at the 63rd National Film Awards and the Nandi Award for Best Film on National Integration. The movie remains a celebrated landmark for its powerful narrative and historical depth.
