Mumbai, Nov 11 – Bollywood legend Dharmendra, known worldwide for his rugged roles and memorable dance moves, remains a beloved figure in Indian cinema. The 89‑year‑old actor’s style, with its unmistakable swagger, has made his quirky steps fan‑favorites for decades.

In a recent interview with Lehren India, Dharmendra defended his son Bobby Deol’s dancing ability, insisting Bobby had broken the “Deols don’t dance” stereotype. “Bobby is a very good dancer,” he told the reporter. “I told him he must clear that tag, and he did.” The veteran star noted how Bobby’s performance in his debut film Barsaat surprised everyone. “When the movie released after so many delays, I was nervous, but the film turned out great. Bobby and his co‑star Twinkle handled the job beautifully,” Dharmendra said.

The actor also praised Sunny Deol, who has earned a spotless reputation through hard work. “Both Sunny and Bobby are fighters,” Dharmendra said. “They had to shed the ‘star kid’ label, and I’m proud Sunny has won awards purely on merit.” During the interview, Sunny’s son Karan was seen on Dharmendra’s lap, a tender moment for the family.

In 2025, Dharmendra’s health has taken a dip; reports say he is currently on a ventilator. His daughter Esha Deol requested privacy and urged reporters not to speculate before official confirmation. Professionally, the seasoned actor last appeared in 2024’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and is set to lead the upcoming film Ikkis, directed by renowned filmmaker Sriram Raghavan.

Dharmendra’s legacy flourishes alongside massive hits like Sholay (1975), Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966), Chupke Chupke (1975), Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Dharam Veer (1977), and The Burning Train (1980). His enduring appeal makes him a perennial favorite for Bollywood fans and a key figure for anyone searching for Hindi cinema icons, dance legends, or Bollywood superstars.
