Fans of “The Bear” might have noticed something missing at the 76th Emmy Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles: star Jeremy Allen White. The talented actor skipped the glamorous event at the Peacock Theater to attend his best friend’s wedding, according to Variety. That left his on-screen love interest from the show, Molly Gordon—who’s also rumored to be his real-life girlfriend—walking the red carpet all by herself.
Jeremy Allen White, 34, earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his gripping role as the stressed-out chef Carmy in the hit FX series “The Bear.” He’s no stranger to Emmy wins, though—he took home the prize in this category for the past two years in a row. This time, he went up against tough competition like Adam Brody from “Nobody Wants This,” Seth Rogen from “The Studio,” Jason Segel from “Shrinking,” and Martin Short from “Only Murders in the Building.” In the end, Seth Rogen, 43, grabbed the win.
Remember White’s heartfelt speech from last year’s Emmys? The “Shameless” alum got emotional, saying his heart was “just beating outside of its chest.” He gave a big shoutout to his “The Bear” co-stars, including Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. “I want us to be in each other’s lives forever,” White shared. “This show has changed my life. It has installed a faith that change is possible… if you’re able to reach out, you’re really, truly never alone.”
White first won an Emmy at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards in January 2024, where he thanked everyone who stuck by him during tough times. That came just eight months after his then-wife, Addison Timlin, filed for divorce. The ex-couple share two daughters, Ezer and Dolores. In his speech, he said, “Thank you for believing in me when I had trouble believing in myself.”
This isn’t the first big awards show White has missed. He also skipped the 2025 Golden Globes in January because he was busy filming his upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic, “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” on the East Coast. Even without showing up, he still beat out stars like Brody, Segel, Short, Steve Martin, and Ted Danson to snag a win back then.
“The Bear” keeps dominating the Emmys—it’s a whopping 21-time winner overall. This year alone, the show snagged 13 nominations, including one for Outstanding Comedy Series. Besides White, other cast members in the running include Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Olivia Colman. Can’t wait to see how they do!
