Mumbai, Oct 20 – Actor Karan Mehra, who first lit up TV screens as Naitik Singhania in the long‑running soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, shared his Diwali plans with today.
Mehra said the festival is a “special time” that reminds him of his childhood – putting diyas on the porch, breathing in the smell of homemade sweets and laughing with family. “Those simple moments are what really define Diwali for me,” he told reporters.
He added that this year’s celebration is a little more grounded. “I’m focusing on spending quality time with loved ones, celebrating togetherness and carrying forward the spirit of light and positivity in everything I do,” he said.
The actor also took the opportunity to wish his fans a happy Diwali, hoping that homes everywhere are filled with light, laughter and love. “Thank you for always showering me with warmth and support; you’re a big part of my journey,” Mehra said, encouraging fans to celebrate responsibly and keep spreading positivity.
Mehra’s journey began with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in 2009, where he earned praise for his calm, endearing portrayal of an ideal husband and son. His on‑screen chemistry with Hina Khan, who played Akshara, became one of Indian television’s most beloved couples. After leaving the show in 2016 for health reasons, he appeared on reality programs like Bigg Boss 10 and Nach Baliye 5, and later joined serials such as Khatmal‑E‑Ishq and Shubharambh.
